Another of Ilone’s favorites : this spectacular piece Fowl attacked by a fox was painted by the Antwerp animal and still life painter Carstian Luyckx. Though scarcely known to the general public today, this versatile artist was successful and held in high regard in seventeenth-century Antwerp. We are fortunate to witness the scene now: one minute later it would be much less entertaining!
