Boy eating porridge

Boy eating porridge was acquired as an anonymous work of the Haarlem school. In subject and execution it recalls the work of the famous Haarlem painter Frans Hals (1581/5-1666), in whose portraits we frequently discern the kind of halo effect seen here. We may never know who the artist is, but a charming and attractive image like this boy we could not let pass!
