Rembrandt Harmensz. van Rijn

The baptism of the eunuch

This painting has always been described in the art-historical literature as an anonymous copy after a lost Rembrandt painting of circa 1631. New scientific study by Martin Bijl however re-attributes this painting to Rembrandt and assistants, as was prophesied by a dealer friend who referred to Bust of an old man with turban which had just then been re-attributed to the master.
