Sometimes collecting is about taking all you have learned, believing in yourself and taking a leap of faith. George & Ilone did exactly that when they bought this painting.

In 1996, a year into collecting old masters, George Kremer sees a painting by Aelbert Cuyp from the Budapest museum and thinks “if only I could ever acquire such a major Cuyp for the collection!” In 2010 he manages to buy a work dubbed “doubtful” by the market and the authority on Cuyp and a 3 year research adventure takes off…
